Quality & Inspections
What is Quality Inspection?
Quality inspection is a systematic evaluation of your products at various stages — before production starts, during manufacturing, and before goods leave the port. As your China inspection company, JS Sourcing provides independent third-party inspection services that help decision makers confirm whether goods meet agreed specifications and quality standards or not.
Our qualified inspectors check goods for export at your factories on your behalf. They conduct thorough checks using internationally recognized AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards, and deliver detailed reports with actionable information — so you can make informed decisions before shipping from China.
What is risk management? Risk management is all the preventive and corrective measures that an international buyer implements to protect his operations against quality defects, safety issues, inefficiencies. Most importers sourcing products from China choose one or several quality control services to reduce their risks. They protect their brand, their customers, and their margins.

How We Classify Defects
Every defect is assigned one of three severity levels — determining what action is required and whether your shipment can proceed.
Violates product safety regulations or legal requirements. Products with critical defects cannot be shipped under any circumstances.
Significantly affects product function, appearance, or marketability. Likely to cause complaints, returns, or reputational damage.
Small deviations from specifications with negligible impact on usability or market value. May be accepted as-is or noted for the record.
How Many Units Are Inspected?
ISO 2859-1 statistical sampling means you don’t need to inspect every unit. A properly sized sample gives you a reliable quality picture — at a fraction of the cost of 100% inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions
We cover 45+ cities across all major manufacturing regions in China, including: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan, Yiwu, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Qingdao, Xiamen, Tianjin, and many more. Contact us for less common locations.
Inspection reports are typically delivered within 24 hours after the inspection is completed. For complex orders or full 100% inspections, it may take up to 48 hours. All reports are sent electronically in PDF format with photos and a clear pass/fail summary.
AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) is an internationally recognized sampling standard. Most clients use AQL 2.5 for general goods and AQL 4.0 for industrial products. For high-value or safety-critical items, AQL 1.0 or 1.5 is recommended. We advise on the right level during booking.

Yes. We can often arrange inspections with less than 48 hours notice in major manufacturing hubs. Rush booking may incur a small surcharge depending on inspector availability and location. Contact us and we’ll confirm what’s possible for your specific timeline.
Pre-Production Inspection checks readiness before manufacturing starts. During Production (DUPRO) inspects semi-finished goods at 20-80% completion. Pre-Shipment Inspection is the final quality gate at 100% completion. Container Loading Supervision verifies correct goods and quantity during loading. Each serves a different purpose in your quality control timeline.
Factory self-inspection has a fundamental conflict of interest — the factory benefits from passing its own products. A JS Sourcing inspector reports to you, not the factory. Our third-party reports also provide documented evidence for trade disputes, insurance claims, or supplier negotiations that factory self-reports cannot.
